The 38th Hong Kong International Film Festival (HKIFF) calls for entries from filmmakers across the world.  The festival will be held from 24 March to 7 April, 2014.

HKIFF’s programme comprises features, documentaries, shorts and animations divided into six sections. Young Cinema Competition – open to filmmakers with their first, second or third features with cash prizes awarded by jury; Documentary Competition – open to documentaries running 60 minutes or longer with cash prizes awarded by jury; Short Film Competition –  Open to all films under 15 minutes duration with cash prizes awarded by jury; Global Vision –  new works including special programmes and tributes; Indie Power – new independent and avant-garde works;Reality Bites – new documentaries.

The 38th HKIFF  will accept submissions for all six sections from July 15 to December 31, 2013.

The early bird deadline is December 7 and late deadline is December 31. There is an entry fee for films made outside Hong Kong.

In 2013, the 37th HKIFF received more than 2,000 film submissions.
