The 18th International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) is calling for entries. The festival will be held from December 6-13, 2013 in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.

The deadline for submissions is September 10, 2013 at 5 pm IST.

The festival has a Competition Section for films from Asia, Africa and Latin America. Films with a minimum length of 70 minutes produced or co-produced from a country in Asia, Africa or Latin America in the last one year or had first theatrical screening after 1st September 2012 are eligible for entry.

Entry for the Indian Cinema Today section is for films produced or co-produced in India in an approved Indian language other than Malayalam. Entry for the Malayalam Cinema Now section is for films in the Malayalam language.

The Jury will award Suvarna Chakoram and a cash prize of INR 1,500,000 (about $US 30,000) to the best director and producer and Rajata Chakoram and a cash prize of INR 400,000 (about $US 8,000) to the best director. The Best Debut filmmaker will be awarded a Rajata Chakoram and a cash prize of INR 300,000(about $US 6,000).

Besides, a Rajata Chakoram and a cash prize of INR 200,000 (about $US 4,000) will be awarded as the Audience Prize to the director of a film that is voted by the delegates of the festival as the Best Entry in competition.

A FIPRESCI Award adjudged by an independent jury setup by FIPRESCI will choose the best film for the FIPRESCI Award and  the Best Malayalam Film in the competition and Malayalam Cinema Now sections.

An Independent Jury set up by NETPAC will adjudge the best Asian Film in Competition and the Best Malayalam Film in the competition and Malayalam Cinema Now sections.

An Independent Jury will adjudge The Best Debut Indian film for the Hassan Kutty Award instated by Mirabai Films.
