It’s a Wonderful Life (1946) is an American Christmas drama film produced and directed by Frank Capra starring James Stewart, Donna Reed and Lionel Barrymore.
When everything was lost and things were falling apart around him, George Bailey contemplates to commit suicide. Prayers from his well wishers reach God who decides to send someone to help him. On the Christmas Eve of Bedford Falls, the guardian angel Clarence is assigned to convince the desperate George Bailey to not commit suicide.
Clarence shows George how much his life means by showing him how the world would be without him. It’s not pretty; his cheerful, friendly town is dreary and impoverished.
IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE is, and always will be, one of the best holiday movies. This movie was a great example of just how valuable the gift of life is, and how large of an impact even one person can have on the life of so many others.
