Revealed: Mogul | First Look – Akshay Kumar
High on back to back successful films and a very exciting year of releases and shoots, Akshay Kumar just a day after announcing the beginning of Mrs. Funnybones pictures debut production Padman he packed another surprise for the audience as he revealed the first look announcement poster of Mogul.

He tweeted the poster of Mogul last night for the 2018 release to be directed by Jolly LLB director Subhash Kapoor.

The movie is based on the life and times of Gulshan Kumar and the fact that Akshay Kumar will be playing his part is damn intriguing. Music Mogul Gulshan Kumar’s rags-to-riches life story was larger than life. His devotional music made him a huge household name in India. He created a whole new music industry that didn’t exist before building his own company T-Series into a gigantic musical empire.
For those who don’t know, Gulshan Kumar was shot mercilessly outside a temple in Andheri and the main accused in the case was music composer Nadeem who was the music magnate’s friend turned foe. In fact, this death brought Mumbai’s underworld nexus to fore and police unearthed details of how he was caught in the extortion racket.
Talking about the movie Akshay said, “I had the good fortune of knowing Gulshanji well and had a close association with him right from my first film ‘Saugandh‘. We both shared many things in common and come from a similar background. I am very excited to play him on screen”.

Director Subhash Kapoor said, “When Vikram Malhotra shared the idea of the film with me, it was a feeling of disbelief. I always told my team that the one story I would love to make a movie on was Gulshanji’s and here I am doing just that.
Akshay Kumar has one of the most amazing line up of films this year including Toilet- Ek Prem Katha with Bhumi Pednekar, Shankar’s 2.0 with Superstar Rajnikanth which is India’s biggest production till date in terms of cost. He will also have a cameo in prequel of Neeraj Pandey’s Baby – Naam Shabana starring Tapsee Pannu.
Along with Padman & Mogul, Akshay will also be starting work on Excel’s Gold, Neeraj Pandey’s Gold and Salman Khan & Karan Johar’s unnamed project that was rumoured to be based on Battle of Saragarhi.
