The Mumbai Film Festival has announced a new initiative as part of the Mumbai Film Mart. ‘India Project Room’, aimed at showcasing under-production Indian films for pre-selection and interest by international Festival Programmers and Buyers will be launched at the 3rd Mumbai Film Mart (MFM) from 18th – 20th October.

The ‘India Project Room’ initiative is aimed at encouraging more international festival programmers and buyers to easily access a larger number of quality Indian films at a single venue.

“As a Festival Director, I understand the need for such an initiative, given that we are a diverse country and that scouting for films maybe difficult. The India Project Room will be a great way for Indian filmmakers and producers to showcase their forthcoming films to festival programmers and selectors to see what India has to offer for the coming year,” said Srinivasan Narayanan, Director, Mumbai Film Festival.

Applicants interested in submitting to the India Project Room must register for the MFM on http://register.mumbaifilmfest.org.

NFDC Film Bazaar, the market component of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), also includes ‘Work-in-progress Lab’ that selects five projects in their rough cut stage to be presented to a panel of international film experts and ‘Viewing Room’ where filmmakers seeking finishing funds, world sales, distribution partners & film festivals present their projects to investors, world sales agents and film festival programmers.
