Manhattan Short 2015 paved its way to every cinegoer’s heart as the “One World, One Week, One Festival” motto came to life when a delectable mix of global films and Indian Short Films were screened at Matterden Cinemas. Cinema Viewers were the film critics for this festival as they voted for the best film at the end. These votes will be then sent through to Manhattan Short HQ with the winner announced on manhattanshort.com on Monday, October 5, 2015.

Manhattan Short along with Vivanta by Taj and Pocket Films conducted the second edition of Vote for India Initiative. This initiative saw filmmakers send films from across the India to compete for a spot in the global finalist list. While no Indian film made a cut for the global finalist list, the films that won the India chapter from among the numerous entries included Aavrati, El’ayichi starring Nimrat Kaur and Divyendu Sharma, Karan Tejpal’s No Anaesthesia, also receiving a special mention were Bhopal Gas tragedy, Bhopal Diaries and Shot.

The 18th edition of Manhattan Short 2015 on its 6th tour in India left a long lasting impact on cinema buffs at the surreal Matterden Cinema that warmly hosted in India. Also supporting the short film movement were Shaina NC , Sudhir Mishra , Karanvir Bohra and Teejay Sidhu and Dolly Thakore.
