Abu Dhabi Film Festival has dedicated a section this year to celebrate 100 years of Indian cinema. A total of 166 films will be screened at the film festival. Jennifer Aniston starer ‘Life of Crime’ is the opening film of Abu Dhabi Film Festival. The film is directed by Daniel Schechter and has been chosen as the opening film. The festival opens on October 24, 2013.

A total of 92 feature films have been lined up for the festival. The Abu Dhabi Film Festival will also screen 25 Arab and international short films and 49 short films from the Emirates and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries will be screened here. 13 world premieres and nine international film premiers from 51 countries is in the schedule.

Indian films selected by Arab filmmakers including restored classics and recipients of this year’s Black Pearl Career Achievement Award will be screened in celebration of 100 years of Indian cinema. Film by young filmmakers is the special feature this year at Abu Dhabi Film Festival. The categories at the festival are – Narrative, Documentary, New Horizons, Our World, Short and Emirates Film Competitions, along with the non-competitive section, Showcase.

The festival is known for the Black Pearl Awards. Abu Dhabi Film Festival will conclude on November 2, 2013.
