Airlift is an upcoming film directed by Raja Krishna Menon and produced by Bhushan Kumar and Nikhil Advani, starring Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur in lead roles. The film is based on biggest evacuation of Indians based in Kuwait during the Iraq-Kuwait war.

In many interviews Akshay Kumar had revealed his motive of bringing the lesser known heroic act by Indian government in 1990 and wants every Indian to feel proud and motivated by it.

Bhushan Kumar, talking about the film, said, “It’s my conviction that the story will be equally appreciated once on celluloid as much as I loved it during narration. The character that Akshay plays is filled with heroism and I am sure he will add to the perfection with this central character role that he essays.”

The film also stars Puarb Kohli and is all set to release on January 22.
