Crowdera starts crowdsourcing for film production in India
Crowdera, the world’s first truly free crowdfunding platform from Silicon Valley, partners with acclaimed actor – director Rajat Kapoor to crowd produce multiple feature films in India. Through this partnership, Crowdera wants to extend its fundraising platform to filmmakers in India, starting with Mithya Talkies’ Rk/R Kay. Crowdera will nurture filmmakers through the entire filmmaking process: from successful crowdfunding to eventually, effective distribution.
Commenting on this occasion Chet Jain, Founder, Crowdera said, “We are very pleased to collaborate with Mithya Talkies and Rajat Kapoor to introduce crowd-production of independent feature films in India. Fundraising is a process and if followed very well, it’s a win-win for the filmmaker and their crowds. We want to help serious independent filmmakers who want to make real cinema with our fundraising processes and experience.”
Currently, Crowdera is in talks with multiple small production houses with similar concept to raise funds through launching campaigns in its platform. Founded in October 2014 in Palo Alto, California, Crowdera offers an online fundraising platform for nonprofits; corporations and individuals that feature both free fundraising tools as well as paid value-added features.
“We are happy to launch our campaign on Crowdera’s platform. I believe the concept of crowdfunding will help several independent actors-directors of our fraternity to achieve their dreams.” said Rajat Kapoor of Mithya Talkies.
