About Tribeca Film Festival

A platform for independent film making, creative expression and immersive entertainment, Tribeca supports emerging and established voices, discovers award-winning filmmakers, curates innovative and interactive experiences, and introduces new technology and ideas through panels, premieres, exhibitions, and live performance. Feature films invited to participate in the TFF19 will be shown in the section determined most appropriate by Festival programmers, in their sole discretion.

ELIGIBLE PROJECTS

Feature-length (40 minutes or longer) narrative and documentary films that have not screened publicly in the New York region prior to TFF19. Submitted films cannot have had ANY public screening, broadcast, distribution or exhibition before January 1, 2018.

  • October 31, 2018 (6pm ET) – Official Deadline ($80 per film)
  • November 28, 2018 (6pm ET) – Late Entry Deadline ($110 per film) *available only to those Features (narrative and documentary) completed after the Official Entry deadline and which have not been screened publicly or otherwise distributed anywhere at the time of submission. All feature film submissions must be received by this deadline.
  • April 24 – May 5, 2019 – 18th Annual Tribeca Film Festival in NYC (the “TFF19”)

 

Tribeca Shorts

Short films invited to participate in TFF19 will be shown in the section determined most appropriate by Festival programmers, in their sole discretion

ELIGIBLE PROJECTS

Short-length (under 40 minute) narrative, documentary, animated and experimental films that have not screened publicly in the New York region prior to TFF19. Submitted films cannot have had ANY public screening, broadcast, distribution or exhibition before January 1, 2018. Student directed short films are eligible for a discounted submission fee through the Tribeca Submissions Form.

Tribeca TV

The TV programming features a combination of premieres and special events, including new series and season premieres, sneak peeks and finales, each paired with dynamic conversations with some of the most prolific and creative directors, producers, writers and actors in television. Since 2016, Tribeca has also highlighted the work of independently produced TV projects through the Pilots Season program. Selected works will be presented to the public at the 18th Tribeca Film Festival (“TFF19”).

ELIGIBLE PROJECTS

Episodic content including projects created for broadcast television and/or streaming, including pilots and episodes of existing series. All submitted pilots must show the potential for serial growth and cannot have screened publicly in the New York region prior to TFF19. Submitted episodes cannot have screened publicly prior to January 1, 2018.

Tribeca Immersive

Tribeca exhibits immersive projects throughout the festival to showcase new forms and uses of media, highlighting innovation across a variety of platforms. These may range from virtual reality projects to cross-platform films, 360 films, websites, multi-media installations, games and apps. Submissions will be considered for the Tribeca Storyscapes section, the Virtual Arcade (for mobile and tethered VR projects), and Cinema360 (for mobile VR projects). Selected works will be presented to the public at the 18th Annual Tribeca Film Festival (the “TFF19”).

ELIGIBLE PROJECTS

Works may include but are not limited to virtual reality projects, 360 films, augmented reality projects, web projects, mobile apps, games, multi-media installations and multi-platform works, but in any event, projects must have some sort of interactive element. Linear films will not be accepted.

Tribeca N.O.W

Tribeca N.O.W. is a platform that discovers, highlights, and celebrates New Online Work from storytellers who choose to create and share their work specifically for the online space. Selected projects will be featured on Tribeca’s website and screened in official festival venues during the Festival.

ELIGIBLE PROJECTS

Eligible projects include web series; shorts specifically created for the online space; and other episodic content meant for online viewing. Submitted works must have been producer after January 1, 2018. Selected projects must be available for public viewing at the time of the 18th Annual Tribeca Film Festival (the “TFF19”).

Tribeca X Award

 

The Tribeca X Award is a juried award for storytelling supported by a brand recognizing the intersection of advertising and entertainment. The Tribeca X Award is open to all work funded with support of a brand in collaboration with artists or filmmakers. The finalists will be recognized by the Tribeca Film Festival, and a jury will award the winning selection at the Festival.

ELIGIBLE PROJECTS

Eligible projects include scripted and documentary work for film, TV, digital, social, and VR/AR, in both feature or short length that were funded with support of a brand in collaboration with artists or filmmakers. Submitted projects must have a storytelling element; projects that are strictly intended as commercial spots will not be considered.

  • January 9, 2019 (6pm ET) – Official Deadline ($400 per project)
