Udta Punjab is an upcoming drama film written and directed by Abhishek Chaubey. Produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor under their banner Balaji Motion Pictures in association with Phantom Films. It features Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Diljit Dosanjh, and Alia Bhatt in lead roles. Principal photography of the film commenced in March 2015.

The poster of the film was released. The tag line of the poster reads ‘Drugs Di Maa Di’ and the trailer of the film is expected to release on 16 April. Shahid Kapor is reportedly playing the role of a rockstar who gets involved in the drugs situation in the state.

The film is scheduled for release on 17 June 2016.
