Akira is an upcoming Hindi action drama film directed and produced by AR Murugadoss. It is the remake of Tamil film Mouna Guru (2011) and features Sonakshi Sinha in lead role.

What’s more is that the scar that is visible on Sonakshi’s face has an interesting back story to it. Director A R Murugadoss  wanted to establish that she has gone through enough but isn’t weak to stand up and fight it out. Hence, the scar signifies that Akira has gone through something painful and the minute you see her face, you can’t ignore that. Thus, the filmmaker made sure that the scar is a visible one.
