Aparna Sen is gearing up for a Hindi film, tentatively titled Saari Raat. It is based on playwright Badal Sircar’s eponymous literary piece, which was translated in Hindi by Dr Pratibha Agarwal.

The play is about  a couple, who takes refuge at a stranger’s place on a rainy night. The film is likely to star Konkona Sen, Anjan Dutt and Ritwick Chakraborty. Sirish ray is expected to work as the DOP of the film. ‘Saari Raat’  is aimed at a festival, which will feature works by three Indian and two Pakistani directors.

“Talks are on at an initial stage. It’s a pleasure to work with Rinadi (Aparna Sen)”, said Anjan Dutt.

Excited about working with Sen for the first time, Sirsha said, “I always wanted to work with Rinadi. Talks are on with her; it’s too early to divulge the details.”

Long back, Sen was supposed to make Saari Raat with Tabu, Naseeruddin Shah and Rajesh Sharma, but the project fell through.
