Nawazuddin and Rasika Duggal begin work on Manto

The biopic ‘Manto’, based on the life of famous Pakistani short-story writer Sadat Hassan Manto, has piqued our interest ever since we heard of the extremely talented Nandita Das’ plans to direct it.

And the talented star cast has added to our expectations. Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has been roped in to play the titular character in the film with the beautiful Rasika Dugal playing Safia, the writer’s wife. The Indo-French co-production is scheduled to be shot in Mumbai and Lahore around the end of this year.

The cast recently met at Nandita’s house for their first script reading. We are eagerly looking forward to this one!
